PORVOO’s Advanced Small-Scale Sewage Treatment System Successfully Delivered to Morocco’s Agricultural Plastic Film Industry

PORVOO recently completed the successful delivery of a compact sewage treatment system to a customer in Morocco. The system is designed for the treatment of wastewater generated from the production of agricultural plastic film. After treatment, the water can be reused in the production process, while the solid particles present in the wastewater are efficiently separated and recycled. The solution offers the customer a reliable, eco-friendly, and sustainable way to manage their industrial wastewater.

At the early stage of the project, the customer conducted a detailed comparison of proposals from several wastewater treatment equipment suppliers across Europe. Through multiple rounds of video conferences and technical discussions, PORVOO stood out by offering a complete and customized treatment solution. The engineering team provided comprehensive support, including wastewater analysis, process flow diagrams, performance simulations, and layout recommendations, which helped address all of the customer’s concerns about treatment results, operational stability, and maintenance needs.

The system delivered to Morocco features a modular design that makes it easy to transport, install, and operate in limited spaces. Key components include solid-liquid separation units, high-efficiency filtration, sedimentation tanks, and water purification modules. The treated water meets the required quality standards for reuse in the customer’s own production lines, significantly reducing freshwater usage and lowering overall water costs.

In addition, the solids separated from the wastewater—mainly fine plastic residues—are collected and sent for recycling, adding further value to the customer’s operations. By helping the customer close the loop between waste and resource, PORVOO’s system contributes directly to circular economy goals and more sustainable manufacturing practices.

The installation and commissioning of the system were completed with the support of PORVOO’s technical team through remote guidance. The customer reported that the equipment began stable operation shortly after setup, with the treated water already integrated back into their production process. This has not only helped the customer comply with local environmental regulations but also optimized their resource utilization.

This project marks PORVOO’s first entry into the agricultural plastic film sector, a field that presents unique wastewater challenges due to the high concentration of organic residues, plastic particles, and cleaning chemicals. By tailoring the system specifically for these conditions, PORVOO demonstrated strong technical flexibility and a deep understanding of customer needs.

The success of this project also reflects PORVOO’s growing international presence and its capability to adapt solutions to meet the specific industrial and environmental requirements of different regions. The company continues to focus on delivering smart and effective water treatment technologies to clients across various sectors, including plastics, agriculture, and food processing.

With this milestone, PORVOO is further strengthening its position as a trusted partner in industrial wastewater treatment and environmental protection. The company remains committed to helping businesses improve sustainability, reduce environmental impact, and enhance operational efficiency through innovative and reliable solutions.

This delivery marks a significant milestone for PORVOO as it expands its footprint in North Africa and makes inroads into new industry applications for its environmental protection technologies. The customer, a well-established manufacturer of agricultural plastic film products, had been facing persistent wastewater challenges, particularly involving high levels of solid waste and pollutants in the effluent streams from its washing and production processes.

After thoroughly evaluating solutions from several leading European suppliers, the customer ultimately selected PORVOO due to its comprehensive technical proposal and strong after-sales service commitment. Multiple rounds of online meetings, video demonstrations, and technical consultations were conducted during the selection process. PORVOO’s engineering team provided in-depth analysis, customized process flow diagrams, and real-time simulations to demonstrate the system’s performance under conditions closely resembling the customer’s actual wastewater.

The final solution delivered to Morocco integrates several key technologies:

  • Physical and chemical treatment modules designed to remove high levels of suspended solids and emulsified contaminants.

  • Solid-liquid separation units for efficient recycling of plastic residues.

  • Water reuse and filtration systems, which allow the treated water to be reused within the customer’s production line, significantly reducing freshwater consumption and discharge.

  • Compact, modular design to minimize space requirements and facilitate easy transportation and installation.

The installation and commissioning were completed smoothly with remote technical support and guidance provided by PORVOO’s engineers. The customer has reported stable system operation, and the treated water has already been reintegrated into their manufacturing process, achieving both environmental compliance and cost savings.

This project is particularly significant because it represents PORVOO’s first entry into the agricultural plastic film wastewater treatment sector, which poses unique challenges due to

high levels of organic residues, detergent chemicals, and fine plastic particles. By tailoring the system to meet these specific needs, PORVOO demonstrated both technical agility and a deep understanding of customer pain points.

Moreover, the project aligns with global sustainability goals by pro

moting circular economy practices. Not only is the water being reused, but the solids separated from the wastewater — which include valuable plastic residues — are also being recycled and returned to production.

PORVOO’s successful cooperation with the Moroccan customer showcases its capabilities in delivering complete environmental solutions — from consultation and system design to equipment supply and technical support. It also highlights PORVOO’s growing international presence and its ability to adapt its tech

Looking ahead, PORVOO is committed to further expanding its presence in Africa and the Middle East, and to continuously developing smart, sustainable wastewater treatment solutions tailored to the needs of industries such as plastics, food processing, agriculture, and more.

As sustainability becomes an integral part of global industrial development, PORVOO remains at the forefront, offering intelligent environmental systems that not only solve pollution challenges but also create long-term value for customers and communities.
