The Porvoo 4-Step Clarification Process
1. Collection & Pumping
Raw, abrasive wastewater is collected in a central pit and pumped into the system using heavy-duty centrifugal or submersible slurry pumps designed to resist severe wear.
2. Chemical Flocculation
The effluent enters the mixing zone where automated PE Dosing Tanks accurately inject PAC (Coagulant) and PAM (Flocculant) to bind microscopic dust into large, heavy particles.
3. Gravity Clarification
The water flows into our deep-cone Clarifier Towers. The heavy bonded solids sink rapidly to the bottom, while crystal-clear water overflows at the top, ready to be recycled to the polishing machines.
4. Sludge Dewatering
The thick sludge at the bottom of the tower is pumped into a Porvoo Chamber Filter Press. High pressure squeezes out the remaining water, producing dry, solid cakes for easy transport.
